jcollinsBrokers endangered or irreplaceable??

Using trucks direct only works if the freight is regular and pays well. Money talks with trucks.... they are gone when the rates drop. Brokers can afford to move freight at low margins and utilize backhaul routes for shippers. A broker's job is to secure transportation and help save cost, rising costs are indicative of a trucking shortage not a broker's extra profit.

jcollinsThe Spot Market - And How not to use it

Spot Market freight has tight margins which usually requires finding the least expensive truck. To find that low cost freight many carriers are usually contacted which actually drives up rates creating a false demand. Seven Star can handle all your spot market freight going to or from CA/AZ/TX. We have our own network of trucks and do not use load boards which often have more costly and risky carriers.

When a contracted carrier needs to haul a load that he doesn't have a truck available for he will need to broker out the freight. If the original carrier does not have a brokerage authority or the $75,000 surety bond, the freight can be at risk.

jcollinsDo you know who's really Hauling your Freight??

Double brokering happens more than you may realize. Your carrier or broker needs to have a system in place to ensure that your freight is protected. Seven Star confirms every truck, driver, and load to ensure complete transparency with every load.

jcollinsSelecting a Freight Broker

The truck capacity shortages shippers experienced last fall are sure to continue as the year goes on. But armed with a good freight broker, you can weather the storm. Many shippers turn to brokers when freight demand far outstrips carrier capacity. Shippers using a broker can access increased capacity without the hassle of managing new carrier relationships.
